You arrive at a long-forgotten ford across a great river. A thick, enchanted mist coils across the water, clinging to the banks and crawling up the cavern walls, pooling in tendrils along the ceiling.

Flickering illusions drift through the fog - half-seen figures, distorted whispers, and flashes of something darker. Somewhere inside, a whirlpool churns, just out of sight.

It’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not. Harder still to stay calm as a cold, crawling fear creeps in the moment you step closer. Your dragon shifts uneasily beside you.

Simple flight won’t help here. You’ll need to cut through illusion, find the safe path, or shield yourself from the magic.

  • Reveal (Arcanum) - Strip away the mist’s enchantment and expose what’s real. A precision spell perfect for unravelling illusions and dispelling visual trickery

  • Waterwalk (Untamed) - Step directly onto the surface of the river and brave the mysterious mist unprotected

  • Clairvoyance (Radiant) - Receive a sudden moment of divine insight - a glimpse of the safest path through the fog, or a warning of danger before it strikes

  • Analyze (Arcanum) - Tune into the magic itself, reading the arcane signature of each illusion. Learn what’s fake, what’s real, and where the true danger lies

  • Hexguard (Voidcraft) - Cloak yourself in anti-magic wards that will help block hostile spells and sharpen your defences as you move carefully through the mist

Greetings, Adventurers!

Ever wanted to launch a cone of pigeons while soaring through the sky on Dragonback? In Drakonym, you absolutely can.

Our custom magic system lets you invent spells on the fly, based entirely on your character’s style, intent, and creative chaos. 

From battlefield-ready lightning strikes to subtle enchantments, the spells you cast can be as creative as you are!


✨ How It Works

  1. Pick a Base Spell - from your core list or spell deck (more on our Spell Cards below 👀)
  2. Choose a Technique - blast in a cone? Wall of fog? Shape the effect to match the moment
  3. Add Augmentations (optional) - spend extra Mana to boost range, power, or duration

And just like that, you’ve built your own custom spell!

The more you stack on, the harder it is to pull off - but if the spell fails, you lose the action, not the Mana. So you can take big swings without fear of burning all your resources.

Once you’ve created something you love, record it in your spellbook. Over time, your spell list becomes a reflection of your character’s personality, goals, and magical vibe!
