The sky has dimmed to deep violet. A lone Ferrovox sits cross-legged on a quiet rooftop, tools scattered around them. Their fur is singed in places, cloak patched and ink-stained, but their hands move with focused precision - adjusting a spool of arcane wire. 

They pause as a ripple moves across the sky.

Their dragon circles slowly overhead - silent and shimmering like a living constellation. The Ferrovox lifts their gaze and smiles… “Took you long enough!”

The Astral Dragon!


Born from cosmic energy and bound to the stars, Astral Dragons are among the most mysterious of all Families, deeply connected to the sky and the cosmos. Their scales shimmer like constellations, and they don’t have traditional wings; instead, they glide on folded gravity.


✨ Build Your Bond

In Drakonym, your dragon doesn’t level up because you won a battle. It evolves because it trusts you. 

🐲 Because you shielded it when it was scared.

🐲 Because you listened when it growled at a stranger.

🐲 Because you laughed with it, not at it when it failed to fly - and helped it try again.

Your dragon watches. Listens. Learns the shape of your voice and the weight of your silences. It hums beside the firelight. Leans in when you laugh. Flinches when you're reckless.



At the core of your relationship is the Bond Tracker - a narrative mechanic that reflects how deeply connected you are with your dragon companion. It’s not about XP or success. It’s about how well you understand each other.

You’ll fill in your Bond Tracker when you act in sync with your dragon’s emotional heart, showing trust. When you protect what it values, or soothe its fears. 

When you fill the tracker, your dragon grows and evolves - gaining new traits, a deeper presence in the story, and a stronger bond with you!


✨ But What Happens When You Break That Trust?

Sometimes, you get it wrong and make a choice that hurts the bond. You ignore your Dragon companion’s fear. You push too hard. You force it to act against its nature.

When that happens, you mark a Discord on your Bond Tracker.

If you reach 3 Discord, your bond fractures. Your dragon pulls away, emotionally distant, and temporarily loses access to its Traits. The connection between you has broken.

But this isn't a failure. It’s a turning point - a chance to rebuild trust through meaningful narrative choices. With time, patience, and care, the bond can be mended. The path may be difficult, but your shared story deepens.


✨ Knowing your Dragon’s Heart

Now that you’ve chosen your dragon’s Family, it’s time to choose its Heart.

Every dragon has a Heart - a core emotional identity that shapes how it sees the world and connects to you. A Dragon Heart acts as a compass for your bond, guiding how your actions affect your connection.


When your dragon experiences a moment of intense emotion - comfort, connection, or vulnerability - you may choose the Heart that has awakened:

  • The Guardian - A quiet protector. Shields others with instinct and resolve.

  • The Partner - Loyal and warm. Stays close and steady, a second heartbeat.

  • The Seeker - Curious and restless. Drawn to mysteries, always reaching.

  • The Spark - Joyful and bold. Brings laughter, hope, and light in the dark.

  • The Watcher - Still and sharp. Learns through silence and attention.

  • The Wound - Gentle and scared. Carries hurt but responds with empathy.


✨ What’s in Your Dragon’s Heart?

You and your dragon have taken shelter in the depths of Duskdale. They are darting around the entrance to a cave when the ground begins to shake. A deep rumble builds into a violent quake. Dust falls. The cave cracks, and a slab of stone above the entrance starts to break loose.

… brace themselves between you and the rockfall, trying to shield you? (The Guardian)

High above the market square, the wind whistles and chimneys puff out thick scented smoke. A lone Ferrovox balances on the roof of a tavern. Their fur is singed in places, their cloak patchworked with burn marks and ink stains. They twist a spanner deep into the guts of a half-finished creation. Arcane glyphs shimmer across their notes, suspended mid-air, while their tail taps out calculations on a brass abacus hanging from their belt. They're muttering something about “mana conductivity ratios” and “what if the wings were detachable?”

Artisans are inventors, engineers, enchanters - creators who blur the line between magic and machinery. They turn raw materials into clever tools, fusing magic with metal to shape trinkets and contraptions that bend the world to their will.

Once rulers of Akeroth, dragons were born from divine light and shadow - creatures of awe, power, and peril. Their reign ended in war, then ruin, as Dragonfall saw them turn on Riders and kin alike. Now, with ancient eggs beginning to stir, dragons awaken into a changed world, their fate bound to those who dare forge a bond.


In Drakonym, your bond with your dragon shapes your entire journey. These aren’t pets or mounts; they are part of your story and your strength. Choosing your dragon is about building a relationship, not assembling stats.

Each of the eight dragon families has a distinct personality, philosophy, and worldview.

Astral Dragons are creatures of the stars, born from the cosmic energies that pulse through the universe. These majestic beings are considered the most mysterious of all dragon families, deeply connected to the sky and the cosmos.

They possess sleek, elongated bodies, their scales shifting like rippling constellations. Unlike other dragons, they lack traditional wings, instead gliding through the air by manipulating gravity.


Aura Dragons are the keepers of pure magical energy, deeply attuned to the flow of Mana that courses through Akeroth. Aura Dragons do not wield might - instead, they channel and manipulate raw magic.

They have sleek, serpentine forms, their scales shifting between luminescent blues, pinks, purples, and golds, reflecting the magic they carry. They often lack the brute force of other dragons, relying instead on their ability to warp magic, enhance spells, and disrupt enemy enchantments.


Mirror Dragons are masters of deception and speed, utilizing their incredible reflexes to outmaneuver foes. They do not possess the strength of other dragons, but their adaptability makes them one of the most formidable creatures in Akeroth.

They have sleek, streamlined bodies, covered in reflective silver and iridescent scales that distort light, making them appear as shifting blurs. Their strong, powerful legs allow them to sprint across terrain effortlessly.


Moon Dragons are serpentine, celestial beings bound to the cycles of the moon and the tides, their power waxing and waning like the celestial body they draw from.

They have elongated, sinuous bodies, their scales reflecting the silver glow of moonlight. Their wings are vast, stretching out like flowing banners, propelling them through the air in a way that appears almost weightless.


Pyre Dragons are volatile behemoths, embodying the raw destructive force of fire. They are the slowest but most dangerous of all dragon families, possessing unrivaled durability and a temper that makes them unpredictable in battle.

They have heavily built, muscular bodies, and their large, plated scales are resistant to most attacks. Their movements are deliberate and eruptive - they have a volatile temperament, and their rage often dictates their actions.


Shard Dragons are titanic, crystalline behemoths, their bodies covered in layers of enchanted crystal that grow and reform over time. 

They are broad, heavily plated creatures, their bodies encrusted with jagged crystalline formations that glisten in emerald, sapphire, and amethyst hues. Their heavy tails are lined with razor-sharp crystal shards.


Storm Dragons are blazing-fast aerial predators, striking like lightning and disappearing before enemies can react. Unlike their heavily Armored kin, Storm Dragons forgo defense for speed and precision, making them the fastest in Akeroth.
They are sleek, lightweight, and agile, built for speed and aerial superiority. Their thin bodies and insect-like wings grant them immense maneuverability, allowing them to evade attacks rather than endure them. Their long, barbed tails contain potent venom, and their claws are lightning-fast.


Sun Dragons are the self-appointed rulers of dragonkind, embodying strength, wisdom, and unwavering leadership. Regarded as majestic and nearly unchallenged, they often act as the guiding force for other dragons, ensuring order where chaos might otherwise reign.
 
They possess broad, Armored bodies, their golden, amber, and bronze scales gleaming like burnished metal in the sunlight. Their massive horns, inspired by rhinoceros beetles, allow them to deliver devastating charges. Their resilience makes them one of the most durable dragons, second only to Pyre Dragons.
